AMA Event Management's community service manager Jason Bock said the racing is fun to watch and a little different to horse and greyhound racing.

"Camels obviously don't run as far and they're not quite as fast - they run about 33 kilometres an hour, so not slow, but not particularly as fast as a horse or a greyhound," he said.
"They do have their own jockeys for obvious health and safety reasons. There will be camel rides on the day as well.
"In essence, it's just a novelty that they're camels rather than horses and the every day racing that you see."
The novelty events on the night include human camel races, where people can dress up and run races themselves.
There will also be amusement rides, market stalls, food vendors and children's activities at the event.
Mr Bock said that, due to the public health orders, there is a cap on the number of people that can attend and tickets won't be able to be purchased at the gate.
Tickets can be purchased online from www.trybooking.com/BIVXC.
