A vehicle was destroyed by a fire in Dubbo on Thursday evening, with firefighters responding as one of two major call-outs they had that night.

Officers from Fire and Rescue NSW responded to reports of a vehicle fire in Pegasus Place at around 11.45pm on Thursday evening, with one appliance attending the scene.
They discovered a resident's ute alight and extinguished the blaze in about 30 minutes. NSW Police also attended the scene are are investigating the circumstances of the fire.

Officers also spent around two hours attending to a spillage on Whylandra St on Thursday night, responding to initial calls at 10.30pm.
Two appliances and a specialist Hazmat unit attended, where it was discovered a 20-litre drum of a sheep dip material appeared to have fallen off a vehicle and then been run over.
Crews used absorbent materials to soak up the spillage and also employed a Dubbo City Council streetsweeper to clear away remaining and dry product.
