After another wet end to the week, Dubbo has now received over 150mm of rain in 2021. Friday and Saturday saw 31.8mm of rain fall, taking the total for the month over 100mm.
No rain is forecast for Dubbo this week but Weatherzone's Craig McIntosh said next week there is an increased chance of rain once again.
"There are signals of some increased rainfall from Tuesday next week but this week it's looking pretty dry possibly light stuff on Friday and Saturday," Mr McIntosh said.
"The possibility of more rainfall in February is there but this far out the models are uncertain,"
"So far at Dubbo Airport, which has a good historical record this is the third wettest February, second is currently 2012 with 118mm which is achievable but first is 218mm from 2002 which would be highly unlikely,"

Temperatures are set to peak on the weekend when they are expected to reach 31 degrees before cooling off to end what has been a wetter and cooler summer than previous years.
The highest recorded temperature in Dubbo so far in February is 34.8 degrees due to climate driver La Nina.
"La Nina is the main reason as to why temperatures have been below average, Dubbo is also already over double the average rainfall for Feburary and plenty more than we would normally see for summer, so it is definitely wetter than average summer,
"There are more factors as to why Dubbo has had lower than average temperatures such as extra cloud and soil moisture and active monsoons which have pushed down south so there is more than one factor."
So far in 2021, Dubbo has not recorded a day with the temperature reaching 40 degrees with the highest so far 39.3 recorded on January 27.
West of Dubbo, Cobar and surrounding towns who have welcomed rain and experienced lower than average temperatures throughout the start of the year are also set to face a week without rain.
Cobar has welcomed 66.6mm this month which is more than the town experienced to this date in 2020 during the drought.
Temperatures for Cobar are expected to be in the 30s all week before peaking on Sunday at 35 degrees.
