Eisteddfod Committee President Barbara Redgrave said she's excited to welcome the Eisteddfod after a 'disappointing' last year when the annual event was cancelled for the first time in its history due to COVID-19.
"It is definitely going ahead for 2021," Ms Redgrave said.
"We've already prepared the syllabus and are just hoping COVID-19 restricts are not too tight upon opening."
Ms Redgrave said the Eisteddfod committee is hoping to see entries open online at the end of the month.
"We've had a bit of a hold up with the system," she said.
"Hopefully, entries open towards the end of this month, but people will need to get in quickly and be vigilant.
"They will only have a month to enter as we need couple months to put it together.
"The closing date is Sunday, March 28."
The competitions proposed launch date at present is set for May 28, beginning with instrumentals.
Ms Redgrave said this year there will also be some excitement around a couple of new implementations.
"There are a couple of different things this year," she said.
"Speech and drama has had an overhaul. Things included in it are spoken word, stand up comedy, storytelling and theatre-making- to name some.
"We've also introduced a new section called lip sync battle, which should be very entertaining.
"It's something very different."
But aside from some small tweaks due to COVID-19 restrictions and the celebrating of the Eisteddfods 50th anniversary, Ms Redgrave says all else will be much the same.
"One thing I would like to get out there though, is that the Eisteddfod is open for all ages," she said.
"Most people think the Eisteddfod is for children or different school groups, but we've had competitors from three to 80-plus-years-old.
"This year we would love to see more adults entering and getting involved.
"There are no barriers."
