Wellington Public School teacher Kate Kiss said when the program was implemented at the school in 2015 there was only a fridge, vegetable patch and a stovetop.
Seven years later, the program has flourished to include a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, outdoor picnic space, orchard, vegetable patch, chicken coop and composting area.
"There is excitement in the air as the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation program continues for a seventh year," Mrs Kiss said.
"The past six years have enabled students to experience the wonder of nature, food and teamwork and it is no wonder that from little things, big things grow."
The Kitchen Garden Program was launched by the foundation to educate children on healthy food options and support the development of positive food habits.
"Students are excited to be back learning a variety of skills from the ground up," Mrs Kiss said.
