The roof of the house, on Cooinda Crescent, partially caved in as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, which they and other emergency services responded to at about 2.40am on Sunday morning.
The single-level, brick home was 'well alight' when Fire and Rescue NSW officers arrived, before they confirmed the home was unoccupied and so no one was hurt during the incident.
"It was well alight when we arrived and there was heavy smoke in the area too. The house was boarded up so officers needed to force their way in to extinguish the fire," Fire and Rescue NSW Dubbo station officer John Poulos said.
"There was no one in the house and no one was injured. With the house being boarded up, it can be tough to know if there is anyone in there, fortunately there wasn't.

"The roof partially caved in during the fire and officers then needed to pull some of it down to access the area that was on fire, and extinguish it."
Three crews and the Hazmat van were on site, with Station Officer Poulos confirming it took more than an hour to extinguish the blaze completely.
The main fire was put out, before follow-up checks around the property to ensure the blaze was completely extinguished.
He went on to say the fire provides a timely reminder to residents about fire safety.
"It's a good time to remind everyone to check their smoke alarms and make sure they have working smoke alarms in their homes," he said.
NSW Police was investigating.
