The Forbes product and Penrith Panthers flyer has been named as part of an Emerging Blues squad which will come together on Saturday as the NSWRL Centre of Excellence.
The camp has been designed to give the next generation of representative stars a taste of what to expect should they reach the Origin arena in the coming years.
Staines lit up the NRL during his brief time in the top grade, scoring six tries in two matches to become something of a cult hero among fans.

Incumbent winger Josh Mansour has departed the foot of the mountains for South Sydney, opening the door for Staines to make a spot in the starting side his own.
Staines is one of six Panthers in the 29-man Emerging Blues squad.
