The show comes as part of a celebrative regional NSW run in honour of The Rubens fourth LP (long-playing vinyl record), 0202.
The Rubens said they are 'over the moon' that 'amidst the mayhem of last year' they were able to pull together a run of what they are calling 'intimate regional album launch shows'.
"This tour will be completely COVID-safe and the show we are putting on will be different to our album tour later in the year," The Rubens posted to their audience on their Facebook page.
"We can't wait to hit the road to share new songs from 0202, play some old favourites, and have a long-overdue party with you all."
The Rubens, which consists of brothers Zaac, Sam and Elliott Margin and friends Scott Baldwin and William Zeglis, last played in Dubbo in July of 2019 at the Garden Hotel which was a sell-out.
The Rubens shared a track from 0202, which launches February 12, called Muddy Evil Pain, which gave fans a taste of the bands latest work said to showcase the band's transformation into an alt-rock/pop powerhouse.
'Muddy Evil Pain' is a good indicator as to how we've grown as a band sonically," The Rubens said.
"It's essentially a folk-gospel song blended with heavily distorted pulsing synths, something we never would have considered doing on our first record but now comes naturally.
"It's got so much energy, one we can't wait to play live."
The Rubens will be performing at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre on Friday, February 12.
Tickets can be purchased online at https://mushroomlabelsstore.com/.
Tickets will be on sale to the general public from 8am February 1.
