The decision was made earlier in the month at the December council meeting, unanimously supported by the councillors.
Council received an application from the South Dubbo Tavern for its trading hours to be extended until 2am on Monday to Saturday and then until midnight on Sunday.
However, council will make a submission to the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority to object to the idea.

In a report on South Dubbo Tavern's application, council's manager community services John Watts highlighted statistics on Dubbo's alcohol-related domestic assault.
Mr Watts used data from the Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research to compare assaults per 100,000 people in different locations.
"In the year to June 2020, the rate of alcohol-related domestic assault in Dubbo was 275.5. This was higher compared to the Dubbo Regional local government area rate of 259.2," he said.
"It was higher compared to the rate for Inner Regional Australia NSW (167.5) and higher compared to the rate for all of NSW (113.2)."
The rate of alcohol-related assaults that weren't domestic violence were also higher.
