Dubbo Show Society Inc confirmed the fireworks via its Facebook page earlier in the week.
The display will be held at the Dubbo Showgrounds on Thursday, December 31.
Dubbo Show Society Inc secretary Sue Hood said all involved in the organisation of the event were excited to see it come to fruition, and judging by the communities response to the announcement, Dubbo residents are as well.
"The event is being produced in line with current Public Health Order conditions and restrictions due to COVID-19," Mrs Hood said.
"All members of each group must register in order to attend due to the government enforced COVID-19 restrictions and our COVID-19 plan. There will also be limited numbers.
"We will have a maximum of 3000 people allowed to come, so please register promptly.
"A gold coin donation will also be required upon entry."
Online registrations are fee free and are only to document those in attendance and ensure the maximum capacity is not exceeded.
Those who have traveled from or via a current COVID hotspot will not be permitted entry into the event and are being asked not to attempt entry.
Current COVID-19 hotspots for NSW includes Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains. Central Coast and Wollongong, as well as Sydney's Northern Beaches, which includes all areas from Manly up to Palm Beach.
However, those who do attend can anticipate an array of family entertainment, markets and stalls and rides from 4.30 pm, with the fireworks set to start at 9 pm.
Mrs Hood said not to forget your chair and picnic rugs.
The New Year's event has been made possible through the works of Dubbo Show Society in partnership with Fletchers International, and the Dubbo Show Society sponsors.
The event was also supported by Dubbo Regional Council.
Alcohol and/or glass will not be permitted at the event and there will be no onsite parking available on the evening.
Registrations for the event can be made online at https://www.123tix.com.au/.
