The city suffered in December 2019 when a 25-year record low 2.6 miilimetres (mm) of rain was recorded at Dubbo City Regional Airport.
At 9am on Friday morning, Dubbo had benefited from a total of 63.6mm of rain this month.

Friday morning's thunderstorm delivered 9mm to Dubbo by 9am and took its rainfall status for the month to above average.
Average rainfall in the city during the month of December is 58.9mm.
On Thursday morning the monthly tally was sitting at 54.6mm.
The BoM recorded 26.8 mm of rain falling in the 24 hours to 9am Thursday after another storm hit the city on Wednesday afternoon.
Rain continued to fall in Dubbo after 9am on Friday.
The BoM's seven-day forecast for Dubbo as of Friday suggests its best chance of more rain is on Monday and Tuesday.
There is a 40 per cent chance of up to 6mm of rain arriving on Monday and the same chance of up to 8mm on Tuesday.
