The Orana Outlaws' men and women will play alongside each other at Bathurst's George Park in the Plan B Regional Bash this weekend.
Both will play the Illawarra Flames and Darney's performance with both bat and ball is likely to be key for the Outlaws women.
Darney, who represented the Australian Indigenous XI in 2018, heads to Bathurst after firing for the Sydney Thunder at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander T20 Cup earlier this month.
Darney opened the batting and bowling in each of the Thunder's three matches against the Sydney Sixers.
Played at Campbelltown, Darney scored 57 and took 1/4 in the opening game before making 26 in the second game and then she finished the series in style by hitting 49 and taking 3/20 in the third match.
That series is one of many top-level carnivals Darney has been a part of but she's just one of a number of experienced players who will line up for the Outlaws on Sunday.
Former ACT Meteors allrounder Kira Churchland, from Orange, will captain the side while Lithgow star Roxanne Van Veen was also selected.
Churchland, Van Veen and Darney were all part of the Outlaws side which was crushed by the Flames in last season's Regional Bash.
The Flames restricted Orana to 6/104 on that occasion before reaching the target inside 16 overs without losing a wicket.
