It's been a handy few days for Ben Wheeler.
The hard-hitting Rugby youngster has continued his outstanding start to the season and he puts it down to hard work and more patience at the crease.
Wheeler's century in the RSL-Whitney Cup on Saturday might not have been enough to stave off defeat to RSL-Colts but he played his role on Sunday as Dubbo scored an utterly dominant Western Zone Premier League (WZPL) win over Mid West.
Wheeler scored 53 on Sunday as the hosts piled on 285 at No. 2 Oval before rolling Mid West for just 43.
Sunday's knock followed Wheeler's 47 in the WZPL opening round win over Parkes while he also belted 54 from just 39 balls in the Orana Outlaws' Plan B Regional Bash opening round win over Central West.
In total, Wheeler has passed 20 in each of the seven times he's batted this season and has 439 at an average of 62.
"I'm seeing the ball well and there's been a lot of work," Wheeler said.
"I've trained hard and staying more patient at the start and working into my innings. Just get a start and then cash in later.
"I've just got to keep it simple and try not to overthink things."

It was simple cricket for the Dubbo representative side on Sunday, as a number of steady partnerships at the top of the order proved key against Mid West.
Wheeler and Rugby teammate Jacob Hill (4) added 39 for the first wicket before the former combined with Angus Norton (27) to add another 52.
Wheeler then departed, with his 55 coming from just 36 balls and including six fours and two sixes.
Mitch Bower took over the role of aggressor after Wheeler's departure and went on to make a game-high 63.
Bower also combined well with Norton in a 41-run partnership and Thomas Nelson (17) in a 52-run partnership.
It seemed Dubbo was well on its way to passing 300 at that stage but Shubham Sharma entered the attack and soon put the brakes on.
Sharma worked his way through the middle and lower order on the way to finishing with 5/45 from 10 overs.
But for Mid West there would prove to be no more highlights as the batting lineup was destroyed by Dubbo captain Mat Skinner (3/17), Lee Price (2/2), and Ben Knaggs (2/7).
"The boys bowled very well," Wheeler said.
"It was just line and length and work to a plan."
The good times continued for Wheeler on Monday when he was selected in the Western Zone senior side for the first time.
He joins Bower, Skinner, and Marty Jeffrey as the Dubbo contingent in the side which will contest the Country Championships at Goulburn later this month.
"It's a massive honour," he said.
"I've very excited to be part of another carnival. I've just got train hard again for the next few weeks."
The Country Championships runs from November 20-22 while Wheeler will also be in action when the Outlaws battle the Illawarra Flames for a finals spot on November 29.
