This weekend could be a momentous one for rugby league as structure of the competition in the western area is discussed by both Group 11 and Group 10 clubs.

Both competitions have their annual general meetings on Sunday and the New South Wales Rugby League's Peter Clarke will address both in relation a proposal to bring clubs from the two together in a western league.
Group 11 secretary Paul Loxley said the meeting will be an "interesting" one but he is hoping for the best for all clubs in the competition.

NSWRL stated last month "the board will not impose structures on the local rugby league community that they themselves don't support" but Loxley still has some concerns given Clarke told the Nyngan Tigers club recently it may not feature in a new-look competition.
"I'd like to think clubs will support Narromine and Nyngan so they can still play in Group 11 or a premier league," he said.
"A revised competition can be good but it's got to allow all clubs the chance to play in it if they are able and it's got to be not rushed.
"There's a lot of implications for sponsors and things like tradition."
Group 10 president Linore Zamparini is equally cautious ahead of his meeting.
"When you think about what could and couldn't be, there's certainly going to be a lot of work involved. I don't see how you can put something like that in place overnight, particularly with the year we've just had," he said.
"A lot of clubs don't even have players for next year because they don't even know what they're doing. Normally they'd be with them right up until the end but this year's been different. Now they have to go around chasing those guys and hope that they come back to the fold.
"The players who were here before love the game, that's why they do it, but we need to get them involved again.
The Group 10 meeting is in the morning with Group 11 to meet after lunch at the Dubbo RSL.
