A woman remains in a critical condition following a house fire in the Dubbo CBD.

About 1.40am on Wednesday emergency services were called to a house fire on Church Street, with reports of a number of occupants trapped inside.
On Thursday afternoon police said the 45-year-old man who suffered smoke inhalation and burns was in a stable condition, however the 61-year-old woman remained in a critical condition.
Dubbo Fire Station, Delroy and Gulgong Fire Stations arrived on scene to find a single level house well alight with large flames coming from the roof and threatening a neighbouring building.

The man was rescued from the home by three NSW Police. Firefighters rescued the female from inside the home, shortly before the roof to the building collapsed.
Both occupants were treated on scene before being transported to Dubbo hospital.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control just before 3am, however the fire had spread to an adjoining retail premises which was severely damaged.
Police investigations into the cause of the fire continue.
