There was a cheer from the Kmart Dubbo staff as the ribbon was cut and the doors to the new store finally opened on Thursday morning.

Those lined up outside were given early access with the roller door going up at 7.45am, rather than the expected 8am.
Customers had been lining up since 7am, with one early arrival saying she was looking forward to "everything" inside.
Kristen Wells said she was expecting to be a frequent shopper at the new Dubbo store. She said previously she had been forced to travel to either Newcastle or Orange to buy her Kmart goods.

She was pretty excited about the opening and said she had come along with her kids and a game plan.
It was the children's items in particular that Ms Wells said she had turned up early for, such as the clothing and wooden toys.
Kmart's manager of stores Chris Renshaw said the team had been working hard to being the new store to life and they were proud to share it with the Dubbo community.
"And the best part? You'll be welcomed into store with some familiar faces," Mr Renshaw said.
"All 42 previous Target team members have transferred across to the Kmart team, along with an existing manager from Kmart, Sylvannia. We're also thrilled to have been able to recruit an additional 63 team members from the local community."
Dubbo Square was thrilled to welcome Kmart to the local community, said centre manager Naiomi Murphy.
"We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful service the Target team provided our local community and we look forward to supporting them as part of the Kmart team," Ms Murphy said.
Kmart is open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm.
