A morning tea was served with special guests including Dot's children, relatives, close friends, Dubbo mayor Ben Shields and Dubbo RSL Sub-Branch president Tom Gray.
Ms Robinson was born in Bourke in 1920, the second eldest of 11 children to Rube and Lillis Bambrick.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Growing up her schooling was limited due to the availability of school teachers in Far West NSW, and other unforseen circumstances.
Dot left school in 1934 and took up casual cooking jobs around the area, as well as helping out with her younger siblings at home.
In April 1938 she started nursing at Durham Private Hospital in Bourke, and in 1942 Dot joined the Women Australian Auxilary Air Force. Dot married Eric Robinson in 1943. The couple settled near Wanaaring after the war and had four children, Lois, Larry, Tony and Joanne.
The couple were involved in the community until they moved to Dubbo in 1988 to be closer to family. Dot currently resides at Orana Gardens Lodge.
