Dubbo Regional Council is reopening the Ponto Falls and Terramungamine reserves for camping in time for the long weekend.

But campers will only be allowed to stay "one night".
The council advises that its staff will be implementing COVID-19 safety plans at the camping sites.

Regular cleaning of the amenities blocks will take place.
Signs have also been installed to remind campers to adhere to COVIDSafe practices such as social distancing and hand hygiene.
The reserves were closed in March in response to COVID-19 safety requirements and to uphold NSW public health orders.
After they changed, the council decided to conditionally reopen the reserves for campers.
The council has thanked campers for their "patience" while its staff formulated a plan that would adhere to NSW Health guidelines.
