The Bulls just seem to find another gear this time of year, as anyone involved in Dubbo football for the best part of the last two decades can attest to.
So it should come as no surprise the side has produced its two best performances of the Western Premier League (WPL) season in its final two fixtures of the regular season.
The Bulls have locked up second spot on the WPL ladder after two imposing performances in the past week.
First was a 2-0 win over minor premiers Macquarie United in a Dubbo derby before a 5-0 demolition of fellow top four side Lithgow on Saturday.
While the squad isn't getting carried away at all, it was a welcome return to form after just one win in the previous six rounds.
"We were up against it with two weeks to go after losing to Parkes," experienced co-captain Scott Fox said.
"It looked like we might miss semis altogether so rattling off wins over Macquarie and Lithgow, half the job is done.
"We've played better than we have all season in the last two games, which is pleasing, but I think Macquarie and Lithgow will be better and you can take those results with a grain of salt."

Saturday's performance at Hans Claven was a textbook win, with an a goal inside the first five minutes putting all the pressure on Lithgow.
As the visitors pushed forward more the Bulls were able to take advantage of the space and slot in goal after goal.
Fox bagged a double, surprisingly his first two goals of the season, while Gareth Williams, Alex Richardson-Bell, and Thomas Busch also got their names on the scoresheet.
Fox also singled out Nelson Flick for providing a huge amount of creativity and effort in the final third while Tim McLaughlin's effort in defence against a strong Lithgow forward line was also praised.
The Bulls will now savour a bye in this weekend's final round before meeting either Lithgow, Panorama FC, or Barnstoneworth FC in the semi-finals.
Those three sides are battling for the last two spots in the finals, while Macquarie United locked up the minor premiership last week despite the loss to Bulls.
While there's no major injuries in the squad Fox stated the chance to rest up and avoid another high-quality and bruising contest this weekend is "perfect" for his side before finals.
Fox captained the Bulls to premiership glory in the previous edition of the WPL - it was shut down after the 2012 season - but he said the standard this year has been stronger and the need to be performing at the very best each and every week has caught out his side at times.
"We've had an up and down season and I think the strength of the league has played a factor," he said.
"It's tough every week and we weren't prepared but now we're at the business end and it's win or you're out.
"But we're full strength and as good as we can be."
Elsewhere on Saturday, Orana Spurs' slim finals hopes were dashed after a 1-1 draw with Barnstoneworth FC in Orange while Panorama FC leapfrogged Lithgow into third after a 2-1 win over Parkes.
Macquarie United had the bye but will round out its regular season this weekend at Bathurst against Panorama, while Spurs travel to Lithgow and Parkes hosts Barnies.
