At 2.15am, Tuesday morning, the driver of an unknown vehicle 'jumped' the gutter coming out of Sovereign Street, East Dubbo, before crossing Birch Avenue and colliding head-on into Ms Rolls' motorhome which had been parked in the driveway.
Ms Rolls said a police officer had informed her she was lucky, as the vehicle would have likely crashed through the front of the house had the four tonne motorhome not been there.
"I'm trying not to be angry, in the grand scheme of things it seems quite petty to be angry about this when there are people out there dying. I feel guilty," she said.
"But I'm crushed."
Ms Rolls had been saving for the second-hand motorhome for what felt like a 'lifetime' and her and her daughter had plans to take it out for their first time this weekend for a trip to Ponto Falls Reserve.
The damage to the motorhome is so significant, it has not yet been determined if the vehicle will be able to be repaired, or if it will be written off.
"My daughter and I are both disabled and it has been a dream of ours for a long time, and some scumbag comes flying over the gutter across the street and over the driveway and dares to leave the scene," she said.
"If she gets written off, there's no way I can afford another one."
Ms Rolls said she believes the vehicle had a large bull bar due to the amount of damage and the lack of paint.
The vehicle also obtained a smashed headlight during the incident and is missing a square black rubber bull bar protector.
"The car was either airborne or it was high up," she said.
"My daughter had been nagging me to let her sleep in it, thank god I didn't," she said.
"I haven't been able to sleep since it happened, and what terrifies me is that what if someone does it again- next time might not be a motorhome, it could be a child or a parent.
"There are a lot of people who walk their dogs up in Birch Avenue in the early morning hours, what if they had hit someone? It would have taken an entire family out like that family in Sydney. I just wish people would slow down."
Ms Rolls said the impact of the collision was significant enough that it had moved the motorhome backwards, pushed the radiator into the engine and left quite the mess for her to clean up.
"'It's devastating. I cried when I first walked inside the motorhome. [The smell made me remember my] aunt and uncle who had been like parents to me, every time I walked in there it felt like walking into their house. But I'm going to stop dwelling on it, I'm trying to think positive," she said.
Ms Rolls said police have been wonderful and are investigating the incident.
Anyone with information which may relate to the incident is being urged to contact the Dubbo Police Station on 6883 1599
