Landscaping is being completed and includes a sandpit, play equipment and interactive garden spaces.
Maranatha Gunyah childcare director Dixie Robinson said she is looking forward to opening the doors to the community for the first time on September 19.
"We are very excited to be seeing this dream come to fruition," Ms Robinson said.
"This is the first purpose built inter-generational centre of its kind and it will soon be operational."
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The centre will use the Early Years Learning Framework to create a range of short and long-term goals for children.
Time spent between the generations will be optional and Ms Robinson envisages there will be singing, reading, craft, music, gardening and a host of other activities in a specially designed program.
Activities will be planned and based on the abilities of both generations while providing valid outcomes to both parties.
The community open day will be held at the centre on September 19 from 10am to 2pm.
