EMERGENCY roadworks are underway to repair a significant submerged hole covered by a thin layer of roadway near Dubbo Hospital.

The immediate area around the failing roadway on the Golden Highway is cordoned off with traffic management put in place.
Speed restrictions of 40km/h are in effect with road users required to use the shoulder of the road, Dubbo Regional Council said.
The westbound lane of the Cobbora Road and Golden Highway will be closed from Myall Street to White Street Dubbo from around 6am to 6pm on Friday to enable further works.
Traffic management will be in place including heavy and light vehicle detours.
Variable message signage boards will be situated along the Golden Highway, Wheelers Lane, Yarrandale Road and Myall Street in Dubbo.
It is anticipated the eastbound lane will remain open, however, traffic control measures will be in effect.
