There will be no Astley Cup competition in 2020 after rule and guideline changes to the state government's COVID-safe program.
The restrictions on travel and inter-school competition made the historic cross-region tournament too unfeasible.

In a statement released by the principals of Dubbo College, Denison College and Orange High School, the three administrators said they had to make the 'devastating decision' following the announcement of Wednesday's new restrictions.
"In 2020, we have had to make the devastating decision to cancel the 98th Astley Cup as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent restrictions in place to keep our students and our staff safe," the statement read.
"Whilst we understand that this will be a distressing time for many of our students, we acknowledge that our paramount concern is for the safety of students and staff within our communities."
The three schools said they remain committed to doing 'everything they can' to ensure next year's competition, the 99th Astley Cup, will go ahead with a tentative Term 2 start date.
While they said the situation was regrettable and apologised for any discomfort caused, the three schools agreed that there was no way the decision could be avoided.
All three schools will work to refund payments made by students in contribution to this year's cup and are now looking forward to the 99th and 100th competitions to hopefully be held across the next two years.
It is only the fourth time in the competition's history that it has been cancelled.
