The Wellington Cowboys threw its support behind its former junior and the club's other NRL exports while Panthers coach Ivan Cleary admitted after the game Naden has been shaken by the incident.
"He's OK; he said that it's not the first time he's heard that in his life but in this forum it has been," Cleary said.
"He certainly took offence to it at the time but he's OK.
"Whatever was said, and I don't know exactly what was said, it definitely affected him and by the sounds of it the appropriate action was taken and what happens from here I'm not too sure."
Investigators are looking into the matter and spoke to Naden on Saturday, while Abdo has also been in touch.
The incident took all thew shine off what was a record win for Penrith.
The result made it nine straight wins for the club, with Naden scoring in the process.
Abdo has been one of many who has praised the actions of the Wellington product and there has been a flood of messages of support from players past and present as well as fans on social media.
A post from the Wellington Cowboys' Facebook page praising Naden and fellow NRL exports Kotoni Staggs, Blake Ferguson, and Tyrone Peachey received roughly 100 shares after the incident.
"The public often forget they are real people who's job is to play footy," part of it read.
"We are proud of their achievements and no matter what team we support, we never really miss a game with the local boys in it.
"We love our boys in the NRL and we love to watch them, support them and cheer for them.
"Times will be tough for them, but we hope they always know that we just want them to achieve the best they can in a world that can sometimes be a little cruel and judgemental."
Naden is expected to speak on the latter this week when the investigation is complete.
