Punters should have paid more attention to Graham Betts' runner in his 100th career start.
Dinosaurus Rex ($26) stunned the field in the night's second race when he charged through the middle of the pack to score by four metres over Ellen Shannon ($6, Amy Ress) and Allegretto ($26, Tom Pay).
Betts' Aces N Sevens five-year-old made it back-to-back wins after his recent success at Young - where on that occasion he also raced at double figure odds.
However, the double dose of glory hasn't taken Betts by great surprise.
"He's been going good for a while but he's just had no luck. He had it all tonight and he did last Tuesday at Young. He's racing really good at the moment. He's clicked over $50,000 with that win tonight," he said.
"This race was good. The one-one dropped off and I was able to get off the pegs, otherwise he wouldn't have won it because the one behind the leader didn't get out in time. He was very lucky but his sprint was good."
Betts knew he'd need his share of luck when he raced along the pegs with both Headline Hunter and Ellen Shannon in front of him.
The good news was that short priced favourite Burns Bay had to put in plenty of work early to drive ahead to the death seat during a 27.7 opening quarter.
Alpha Xena was sitting behind Burns Bay going into the final lap but started to fade before the field even hit the 600m marker.
That presented Betts with the perfect chance to get off the inside line and peel out for an attack.
He ran three wide into the home turn and quickly gobbled up the tiring favourite.
Leader Headline Hunter couldn't go with him and Ellen Shannon's dive down the sprint lane wasn't going to be enough to challenge Dinosaurus Rex.
The winning mile rate of 1:56.9 was a new career best for Dinosaurus Rex.
It's the ninth career victory for Betts' gelding and his fifth of what's been a career-best season.
