Emergency services were called to a block of units on Maxwell Street in Wellington at 5pm on Thursday following reports of the crash.
Fire and Rescue NSW Wellington Captain Mark Moroney said a man was the only occupant in the vehicle when it crashed.
"When we arrived we found that a vehicle had run into the side of a brick building causing some minor collapse of some bricks at the corner of that building," he said.
"The single occupant of the vehicle was treated by ambulance officers and allowed to return home.
"The occupant of the building was evacuated for safety reasons."
Captain Moroney said the impacted area of the building has now been cordoned off to allow repairs to be conducted.
Police were also called to the scene and the cause of the crash is now under investigation.
