Mrs Amor said although 2020 has been a year of chaos, it has also been a year of standing up for what is right and a year of change.
"I'll be selling boxes of six cupcakes for $30 each with $20 from every cupcake box sold being donated to Leaderlife. This non-profit organisation is helping so many kids and young adults to do better, to see they are capable of great things and to fight adversity - more adversity than some of us could ever imagine," Mrs Amor said.
"I initially reached out to Leaderlife to do a fundraiser because I saw the amazing work they were doing with the kids in the Dubbo area.
"The idea that this organisation assists at-risk children and young adults to realise their potential and to be a part of a bigger community in such a meaningful way is so inspiring. So let's do our bit to help these amazing young people thrive, build confidence in our community and navigate life's challenges in a positive way.
Mrs Amor said she believed helping the organisation and others was crucial because we can only be strong if we continue to build this community together.
"Leaderlife brings the best out in our community and this means that we can become that much stronger," she said.
"I feel like by doing this fundraiser I've given other people courage to do the same. I hope that what comes out of this is more awareness, less ignorance and higher value and empathy for those who have seen more hardship than many of us can even imagine. The time to support our community and build an understanding of culture has always been important and the current global climate means we can start taking the right steps towards a better future.
"I am so proud of the community I am part of and the support this has already received while also considering what has become of 2020 we have been able to continue learning, changing and ultimately becoming better people."
She said the money raised would go towards programs that help support young adults to build their life skills, relationships, education and employment opportunities allowing them to be part of a wider community.
"So far we have sold around 30 boxes of cupcakes. I hope to sell at least 40 boxes, if not more. The more money we can raise as a community the better. Knowing how much of a difference you are making for these amazing young people will make your cupcakes taste even better," Mrs Amor said.
Cupcakes will be available for pickup on Friday, July 24. Buy them at: https://www.foodatyours.net/shop/cupcakesforacause.
