SHANE Sanderson rarely makes ventures over the Blue Mountains from his Menangle stable but he's eyeing off Bathurst Paceway as the perfect venue for Loorrim Creek to make his return to racing this Wednesday.

Former Group 3 champion Loorrim Creek was sent for a brief one month spell after a tough couple of races at home, and with a bit of quality rest time it's hoped the Rock N Roll Heaven seven-year-old can regain some of his trademark consistency.
Loorrim Creek starts widest in the night's top-graded event, the Town And Country Rural Supplies Pace (1730m), in just his second start at Bathurst for current trainer Sanderson.
Ventures outside of Menangle, Newcastle and Penrith are rare for Loorrim Creek but this race shaped up as the perfect return event for Sanderson's highly-graded gelding.
"Every now and then it's good to give them a break from Menangle because the high speed racing can be quite hard on them. I've taken him to Newcastle a couple of times in the past to give him a break from them going 150 every week," he said.
"He's had a bit of a break and this looked like a nice race for him. It's a good one to give him a bit of a run around.
"I think the race is winnable for him but given where he is in his preparation he's going to have to be driven somewhat for luck. If this race is run to suit I'm sure he'll be forward enough to capitalise.
"If the breaks don't come then he might be up against it."
Loorrim Creek's only previous venture to Bathurst since joining Sanderson's stable in early 2018 was a runner-up finish at big odds during the Bathurst Mayors Cup in March this year.On that occasion one of Steve Turnbull's stable stars, Atomic Red, was a cut above the rest of the field.
But several runners who finished behind Loorrim Creek on that night, such as the Ashlee Grives-trained Life Lavros and Steve Turnbull's Power Of Red, are also taking part in this Wednesday's race.
The race also features Dazzle Me from the Dubbo stables of Barry Lew.
The event will be a real step up in class for the lightly-raced Dazzle Me but Lew is hoping the quality can aid his gelding's development.
Dazzle Me has finished runner-up in two starts this preparation and will go from gate one in the event.
Lew also has Karloo Bradley contesting the night's opening event, the Hynash Constructions 3YO Pace (2260m).
Karloo Bradley is on a short back-up after winning at his home track on Sunday.
Racing starts at 5.07pm at Bathurst on Wednesday.
