Chief executive officer of the Western NSW Primary Health Network Andrew Harvey is asking them to help keep the region "COVID-Safe".

"While the easing of crowd restrictions in NSW means families can enjoy themselves during the holidays, we still wholeheartedly encourage everyone to continue to practice safe social-distancing, proper handwashing and hygiene, and to remember to use their elbow or a tissue for coughs and sneezes," he said.

Mr Harvey said he could not overstate the importance of people being tested for any respiratory complaint.

"If anyone is suffering from cold or flu-like symptoms, I urge them to take the time to get tested at one of our region's respiratory clinics, or to call their regular GP or local hospital for advice on how to get tested and, of course, stay at home when you're unwell," he said.

"It really is up to each individual to ensure that our wonderful region continues to be COVID-Safe at this important time."

Mr Harvey said the region's response to the COVID-19 pandemic had been "brilliant so far".

"Everyone, from our medical and healthcare professionals through to businesses, families and individuals have done a wonderful job in doing their bit to ensure the health and safety of themselves and others to this point, but we cannot afford to become complacent," he said.

There have not been any cases of COVID-19 detected in the region for weeks.
