WEST DUBBO
Social Bowls
Unfortunately last Wednesday's open social bowls were washed out, but on Friday morning, a large field was on hand, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, to see who could take home the spoils. Tony Leonard and Warren Brown combined handsomely for a well-earned victory over the triples' team of Dave Kilsby, Bev Goss and Barrie Sigsworth.
The adventures of Barry McKenzie and Dick Jeffries earned them the Super-Cash Saturday Pairs event, filling their pockets with notes ahead of the runners-up, James Abel and Lloyd Peirce.
Bev Goss was not to be denied on Sunday morning when she teamed with Kath Ashby to win from Roy Frost and John Fardell.
All social bowls' events (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) still remain an open competition until further notice, with names in by 9.30am and a new starting time of 10.30. The cost for social bowls remains at $5, with a $2 option for a lucky draw jackpot.
