It's probably not something you'd ever see on a big city Police force, and surely a rare sight even in a country town.
That is, a father and son copper heading off to work, together.
But it happened this week in Bendigo, Victoria.
Tony Kekich, acting senior sergeant, who's been in the force for 34 years, was joined on the beat by his son, Cohen, an officer of just two months.
The moment happened on Tuesday, and fulfilled a dream for Tony.
"Our bosses are really supportive. I once said to one of them, 'all I want to do is work one shift with my son and I will be a happy man for the rest of my life'," Tony said.
The pair planned to patrol roads around town for the shift together, but in the lead-up to the big day, neither was sure exactly what the dynamics would be like in their patrol car.
"It could be interesting," Cohen said.
"When the time comes we will have to be serious, but I think we will also have a laugh."
So if you're heading off to work with your mum or dad, or your son or daughter today, stop and take a moment to appreciate it - it could be a day they've been dreaming of for years.
