The washout of Sunday's meeting at Coonamble means many trainers need to give horses a run and Dubbo has benefited in a big way.
There was an almighty 237 nominations released on Tuesday, meaning the meeting could feature more than the seven races originally scheduled.
A maiden plate over 1100m attracted with most in 44 while there were 40 for both the 1400m maiden event and a benchmark 58 race over (1300m).
The class event of the day, the Benchmark 66 Handicap (1600m), attracted 22 nominations.
Among the nominations for that race are Allan Gibson's California Fox, which is coming off a win in the Winter Country Classic Final at Dubbo last start.
Fellow last start winners Cat Walk Queen, Holy Empress, and Nieces And Nephews are also in the running.
As well as strong nominations, the Dubbo club has been boosted by the news owners are now able to return to the track.
Meanwhile, the extra prizemoney on offer at a showcase meeting could tempt Darren Hyde to have Westlink return to the track at Scone on Friday.
The former Country Championships finalist, a star at Hyde's Dubbo stables, hasn't raced since November of last year.
Hyde has nominated the five-year-old gelding for Friday's $27,000 Open Showcase Handicap (1200m).
The meeting was originally set for Tamworth but it has been moved after heavy rain left the Tamworth track unsuitable for racing.
Given the quality of horses among the nominations Hyde is keeping his options open and has also put the five-year-old forward for Saturday's Benchmark 64 Handicap (1200m) at Newcastle.
Westlink looked ominous in his two trials since returning from a spell, winning both at Dubbo Turf Club this month.
Another former Country Championships finalist out of the western area heat at Dubbo could do battle with Westlink at Scone.
Coonabarabran trainer Wayne Martyn has put Sea Lady forward, the mare having been in the paddock since February.
Lundholm nominated Good Time Charlie for the Open Showcase Handicap while Gulgong's Brett Thompson put forward the in-form flyer, Kookabaa.
Scone's final fields are released on Wednesday while the final fields for Dubbo come out a day later.
