The Western NSW Local Health District Dubbo Maternity Service announced the new rules on Friday following a visitor ban due to COVID-19.
"In the Birthing Unit this needs to remain the same two visitors, meaning there will be no swapping," A Dubbo Maternity Service spokesperson said.
"For the postnatal ward it is two at a time. Children are not encouraged to come to the hospital, unfortunately. If they are required to come they are included as one of the two visitors. All visitors are still screened at our front entry point to ensure that they are well.
"Please also remember, the pandemic is not over- and as we all navigate our way through things may change.
"Don't visit a new mum and baby if you aren't well and wash your hands frequently."
