The popular entertainment venue will be back in action from Thursday July 2.

The company was forced to close its cinemas across Australia in March amid the COVID-19 pandemic and resultant restrictions.

Fans were continuing to miss the popcorn-laden experience at Dubbo even as cinemas opened in other states, but on Thursday the company brought the wait to an end.

Reading reported the re-opening plan is in line with government and health department regulations via the relevant state-based easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

Reading has implemented a range of new measures to "ensure the ongoing safety of customers, staff and the general community".

Included in the measures is a reduction in auditorium and foyer capacities and a staggered seating approach to ensure compliant physical distancing for all cinema goers, Reading reports.

A stringent cleaning program involving sanitising of all high touch point areas will also be introduced.

"We are excited to welcome our loyal customers across the country back to the movies," Reading Cinemas Australia managing director Mark Douglas said.

"It has been a difficult few months for everyone and we look forward to providing a welcome distraction as Australia emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The feedback from those who attended our Tasmanian, South Australian and Western Australian cinemas this week has been very positive and gives us great confidence to safely open the remainder of our locations.

"We commend the national cabinet on their handling of the

pandemic and look forward to working closely with them over the coming months."

Reading Cinemas relaunched six cinema locations in Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia on June 1.

Its six NSW locations will start trading on July 2, coming after Queensland locations on June 18, and Victorian locations on June 22.
