The Orana Mid-Western Police district have offered reassurances to residents after an early morning police operation was carried out on Myall Street on Thursday.

"A police operation at the intersection of Hunter and Myall streets, Dubbo has concluded," A police spokesperson said.

Police officers attached to the Orana Mid-Western Police District responded to the reports of a suspicious object and cordoned off the area on Myall Street between Armstrong Crescent and the Myall Street Mini Mart at around 9am.
Police officers identified a suspicious item as a cause for concern and enacted the cordon in order to divert traffic and pedestrians.
"The intersection was closed as a precaution after an item was seen by patrolling Traffic and Highway Patrol officers shortly before 9am, Thursday June 11," The spokesperson said.
The object in question was located and identified by police and the cordon was lifted following the operation's success.
"The item was checked and deemed not suspicious and the streets were re-opened at 9.45am."
