Work on the Mitchell Highway and Wheelers Lane roundabout to improve its drought tolerance will begin on Sunday, May 24.
As part of the work a large deceased Eucalypt tree will be removed and replaced with a Pin Oak tree.
The Pin Oak tree has been selected as a suitable replacement to continue the existing avenue of trees currently in place on the western and eastern sides of the roundabout.
Traffic control will be in place Sunday during the removal of the large Eucalypt tree.
The existing turf on the roundabout will be removed and replaced with drought sensitive landscaping and plant species.
Landscaping work will continue for approximately two weeks.
The work will be completed by end of June 2020.
