The Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSW PHN) is offering counselling to staff of private health service providers and health-related small businesses who are stressed out because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is calling for expressions of interest from the likes of GP practices, pharmacies and dentists, along with allied health, mental health, specialist medical and Aboriginal medical services.
WNSW PHN chief executive officer Andrew Harvey said health professionals in the region were "under additional pressure as they care for and provide services to our communities" during the pandemic.
The program on offer includes a 24/7 support line via secured video link, teleconferencing and counselling by phone, with up to five sessions per employee.
Initially, it will be available for three months but may be extended, "pending COVID-19 restrictions".
