Council is creating a cultural plan for the local government area. It's being developed in collaboration with cultural groups and members of the community to reinvigorate culture.
There were 25 public meetings held across the LGA to discuss the plan with stakeholders and 92 formal written submissions were received.
Some key feedback included calls for increased cultural engagement with the Aboriginal community, more outdoor cultural events and more inclusive events.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The feedback has been turned into strategies that will guide council's role in developing and promoting culture across the next five years.
It will go before the councillors on Monday night to be endorsed before it is put onto public exhibition.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the council committee meetings will be held virtually and cannot be attended by the public. They will be livestreamed on council's Facebook page and website.
