Dubbo Farmers markets vice chairperson Estell Joseph said they are waiting for Dubbo Regional Council to approve of the reopening of the markets before they will start being held in Dubbo again.
"The police are currently not supporting the operation of the markets at the moment as the markets are still being classified as a social gathering," Mrs Joseph said.
"Because of this, Dubbo Regional Council will not grant us permission for the operation of the markets until police support the move.
"We haven't heard anything further as of yet and are still waiting for the green light to be given by council."
If the farmers markets are given the green light by council at some point during the next couple of weeks, then they will be held next in Dubbo on May 16.
