Funded through the Stronger Communities Program, BBC XL is for young people in regional and rural NSW, aged 14-24, who are wanting a career in the performing arts.
Orana Arts executive director, Alicia Leggett said there would be intensive residency camps that worked towards creating performance outcomes, wiht young creatives increasing their skills and creative capacity.
"Orana Arts has an ongoing commitment to creating performing arts opportunities for young people through our Staging Stories project.
"BBC XL takes our experience and learnings from our BBC partnership with the Western Plains Cultural Centre and creates the next level of development and engagement for young and emerging artists.
"We want this to lead to a wave of our regional artists being on mainstream stages producing, acting and directing in a few years' time."
The program is being delivered in partnership with Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), TAIKOZ and the National Aboriginal Islander Skills Development Association (NAISDA).
The project will have components of online delivery that aim to connect members to industry professionals and mentors.
