Vulnerable people and those in quarantine across the central west have been provided a helping hand in the form of food boxes thanks to the Rapid Relief Team.

In April, the RRT announced that it had partnered with the NSW Government to deliver thousands of donated food boxes to families across NSW.
The boxes provide food to those who may be struggling or otherwise unable to leave their home, with most recipients unemployed workers, the elderly, those who are in self-quarantine, and families suffering domestic violence.
Thousands of food boxes continue to be safely packed by RRT volunteers from the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (PBCC), which will be delivered to individuals and families all across NSW.
Cowra and Information Neighbourhood Centre CEO Fran Stead received 20 boxes recently and said because of the donation, they were able to help 20 families suffering extra strain due to COVID-19.
"These food buckets are truly incredible and will be used by our Family Support Service, as well as given to walk-in clients that are needing some extra assistance," she said.
"Being able to supply these buckets has enabled our clients to keep their dignity at an extremely stressful time."
An Orange resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, said the food boxes were brilliant.
"I had nothing to eat on the weekend, and when it turned up, it was just like Christmas," the resident said.
RRT Managing Director Ron Arkcoll said care and compassion were at the core of RRT's outreach programs and said their goal was to deliver each food box within a 24-hour window, where possible, once the registration was received.
"COVID-19 continues to force us all to reconsider how we go about our daily lives; and so, while we're currently not able to cook our usual RRT BBQ, we can deliver food to those in need," he said.
"We're asking the people of NSW - if you are in need - perhaps you're elderly, currently without work, or in self-quarantine - please reach out and register for a free box.
"Already 40 boxes have been delivered in the Central West region and the process is very simple - to register for a food box, call 13 77 88.
Mr Arkcoll again thanked NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro and the NSW Government for their continued support.
