GROUP 10 has indicated its desire to run a one-round competition following a board meeting on Wednesday night, but the fate of the 2020 season still belongs to the clubs.

A zoom meeting scheduled for Monday between the Group 10 board and all eight club presidents will likely determine if a 2020 senior premiership is run.
Nutted out on Wednesday night, the board's proposal allows clubs to start training from July 1 before a round one kick-off the weekend of July 18. The regular top five finals system would apply.
It's believed a push from some Group 11 clubs to draw-up a combined western premiership with Group 10 for 2020 wasn't discussed.
Group 10 director Peter McDonald said the board will be consulting with all clubs in a meeting this Monday evening to discuss the proposal.

"We're hoping that, in this time from now until then, the government can relax the social gathering restrictions and ease the number of people allowed into a game," he said.
"We're holding another meeting with representatives from the Group 10 clubs on Monday evening online to put the idea on the table to them.
"Hopefully we can get some positivity from them, or make sure everyone's on board with the same idea, and we'll be able to go from there."
A one round competition means the finals series would start on the weekend of September 5 and 6.
However, the board is yet to draft up a draw and will wait for input from clubs in Monday's meeting.
There were concerns some clubs may not be able to field a team but McDonald said a shortened season might allow all eight premier league teams to play.
"Cowra had indicated that they'd be struggling to field a team but the latest is that they might be up and going because of the shortness of the competition," he said.
If crowd restrictions are lifted in any capacity before the season starts McDonald is confident people would flock in big numbers to support their local clubs.
"People are just crying out for football. We're very strong here in the Group 10 and everyone wants to be out there playing," he said.
"Crowds are hungry for some footy as well, and with no NRL on at the moment we're really stuck for footy."
