Federal Minister for Regional Health Mark Coulton is offering advice as "millions of people" take advantage of Telehealth consultations funded by the federal government during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"So that's still very important that if you have a situation that requires urgent attention, please go to the doctor."
But for less urgent conditions, the federal Member for Parkes is encouraging use of Telehealth.
"If it's something that can be dealt with over the phone, the doctor can now claim that on the Medicare Benefit Scheme and we've seen literally millions of people now undertaking Telehealth consultations," Mr Coulton said.
Legislation making Telehealth more accessible to patients and doctors vulnerable to the coronavirus passed the federal Parliament in late March.
