Emergency services were called to a property on Bulwarra Drive, Toongi, 21km from Dubbo about 2.30pm on Saturday following reports of a child trapped under a tipper truck.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended along with NSW Fire & Rescue, NSW Ambulance and Dubbo Rescue Squad.

They found a nine-year-old boy - who had been riding a dirt bike - had become trapped under the truck, police reported.

He was released and airlifted to The Children's Hospital at Westmead in a serious but stable condition, police said.

On Tuesday police gave an update, saying the boy was flown to Sydney as a precaution but was back in Dubbo with no serious injuries.

A seriously injured young boy has been taken by air from Dubbo to a Newcastle hospital at the weekend, NSW Ambulance says.

Emergency services were called about 2.30pm on Saturday to reports of a nine-year-old on a motorbike and a piece of equipment colliding on a Bulwarra Drive property, a NSW Ambulance spokeswoman told the Daily Liberal.

Paramedics treated the child for chest, head and pelvic injuries and he was taken to Dubbo's airport and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, she said.

The boy was transported in a stable condition to the Newcastle Hospital, NSW Ambulance said in a post to social media.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Dubbo where a young boy sustained injuries when equipment rolled on a property, the organisation said in a post to social media.

He was transported by road to meet the rescue helicopter at Dubbo's airport where he received further treatment from paramedics and NSW Health doctors before being flown to John Hunter Hospital, the organisation reported.
