The man faced Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday for a vehicle pursuit that occurred in Broken Hill the day prior.
At 12.30pm on Tuesday, officers attached to Broken Hill Target Action Group attempted to stop a white Holden Commodore for the purpose of a random breath test.
The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated, travelling through several streets in northern Broken Hill.
The pursuit was terminated shortly after for safety reasons.
Police located the vehicle a short time later abandoned in Mica Street and, during a subsequent search, officers located power tools, jewellery, rifle scope, ammunition and a safe. All items are believed to be stolen.
A man was arrested after he was found near the vehicle and he was taken to Broken Hill Police Station.
The 32-year-old man was charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive recklessly, drive while licence suspended and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail and appeared in Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
