A welcome 37 millimetres of rain officially fell in Dubbo in the week ending March 29 when residents used 44 litres (L) per person per day less than the level four water restrictions target of 280L.

The week ending March 29 marked the end of level four water restrictions in Dubbo for at least three months.
Level three water restrictions, with a target of 320L per person per day, was introduced on Monday, March 30.

The data for daily water consumption is posted weekly on Dubbo Regional Council's online drought hub, www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au/droughthub.
In the week ending March 29, Dubbo residents used 236L per person per day, down from 239L the previous week.
Dubbo residents were under the 280L target for eight consecutive weeks.
Wellington and Geurie residents also reduced their use of water in the week ending March 29.
At Wellington, residents used 178L per person per day, down from 196L the previous week.
Geurie residents used 122L, down from 138L.
Both communities stayed under the 280L target for 12 consecutive weeks.
Level three water restrictions allow for outdoor watering for an hour on Wednesdays and Sundays.
The watering of new turf is also permitted.
Cars are able to be washed on the lawn with a trigger hose and pools can be topped up or filled.
Walls or paved surfaces can only be washed down with a bucket.
