Pip Smith's commitment to making Wellington a better place was recently rewarded, after she was named the Dubbo Electorate Woman of the Year.

Dubbo MP Dugald Suanders surprised Ms Smith on March, 18 to make the announcement.
Ms Smith was shocked to receive the award, but grateful for everything Wellington has given her and her family.
"Being involved in the community is a really good way to show your children how to give back," she said.
"We live in a great town. It's a wonderful community, a great place to live and the more you give the more you get back."

Ms Smith is a former Wellington councillor and former president of the St Mary's P&F.
Currently she is the chair of Wellington local health council and vice-president of the Wellington CWA branch
The LoveMerino founder is a committee member and life member of the Wellington Swim Club and secretary of Western Area Swimming.
Ms Smith is the minute-taker for the NSW Farmers Wellington branch and current registrar and committee member of the Wellington Eisteddfod.

The local farmer is also a member of the consultative committee of the Bodangora Community Fund.
Just last year, she met with NSW Governor Margaret Beazley at a Dubbo Chamber of Commerce breakfast.
In 2017, Ms Smith was named on the Hidden Treasures Honour Roll, which recognises local women's contribution to their community.
Mr Saunders said there are many people in the community who do great work that flies under the radar.
"As parliamentarians, each year we get the chance to award someone with the 'Woman of the Year' title and I couldn't think of anyone more deserving this year than Pip Smith," he said.
"She is involved in so many groups and events in Wellington and this award is my way of saying thank you to her for all of her efforts."
