Coordinator of the Michael Egan Memorial Book Fair Peter English has announced the cancellation of the 11th fair on May 2 and 3 because of the coronavirus called COVID-19.
He has also asked the public not to leave books at Meals on Wheels on Thursday, previously designated a drop-off day.

On Tuesday Mr English confirmed the fair "unfortunately" would not go ahead this year.
"We need to be responsible for the health of our volunteers and patrons so in all honesty it was the only decision we could make," he said.
The Rotary Club of Dubbo Macquarie runs the fair with proceeds going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service and cancer research.
Currently it has about 10,000 books in storage.
"We're got some really great books and fortunately they don't go off," Mr English said.
The club would issue a call-out for more books at the end of the year, he said.
