Events across the country have been cancelled or postponed following the federal government's ban on non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people.
But Cancer Council NSW director of community engagement Rory Alcock said the event at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre was still on.
"Our Stars of Dubbo 'Dance for Cancer' event on Friday 1 May is currently still going ahead as planned," he said.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
"However, the health and safety of our volunteers, staff and supporters must come first at all times so we will continue to review the situation. If we believe the risk to health posed by COVID-19 is too high, we will cancel the event to protect our community."
Mr Alcock said he thanked everyone involved in the event for their patience and ongoing support.
This year's stars are: St John's College teachers, Jordan Primmer, Tiffany Vanstone, Errin Williamson, Sally Matthews, Maddie Langley, Leisa Ross, Jasanna Pilon and Cara Grey.
