"It's hard to get to talk to teachers because they're so busy all the time, and I know it from both sides of the fence because I was a teacher for forty years here and that why I was chosen as the curator," Ms Aland said.
Ms Aland said it could be frustrating for teachers to find the time to support their own artistic work while teaching and the concept had already received a number of positive responses.
"Most art teachers, or teachers in general are very creative people, they just don't get the time or push, so this is a bit of a nudge to get them to do something they've wanted to do for ages," Ms Aland said.
"I've exhibited a lot of times while I was working and it's really good to give people that same outlet and opportunity."
The exhibit is open to all teachers and applications close on March 27, with the artworks being hung in CSU on Wednesday, April 29 and the exhibit opening on Sunday, May 3.
Those looking to exhibit their work can contact Ms Aland through the Creative Assembly Facebook page, or by e-mailing her at Teachart2020@email.com.
